Good morning everybody.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Then write down one thing that you didn't enjoy and explain why you didn't enjoy it.

Remember to try and can make your sentences exciting by....

- Starting your sentences in different ways.

- Using conjunctions to join sentences together.

2) Log onto Education City and complete the reading activity.

3) Read for at least 10 minutes to an adult. You can read a reading for pleasure book or a book from the eBook library.

Optional – Spellings

Today we are going to think about the 'al' sound. Watch the clip below that tells you a little bit more about this sound.

The /al/ spelling pattern - Mr Thorne Does Phonics

Watch UK school teacher Mr Thorne and Youtube sensation Geraldine the Giraffe take you on a learning journey through the world of phonics, grammar, spelling ...

Now put these words into WOW sentences. If you want to, you can add a suffix to the root word. For example change walk to walked.

also

always

altogether

almost

talk

walk

Extra challenge 1: Think of three other words that have the 'al' sound in it and put the words into WOW sentences.

Extra Challenge 2:

You will need:

- The PDF called 'al sound board game'.

- Dice

- counters

How to play....roll the dice and move your counter. Keep going around the board doing this and say the words as you land on them. You could even put the word that you land on into a sentence.

I hope you all have a lovely day.
