Hello Year Five,
Hope you are all well? What a strange few months you have had – I hope that you are as excited about joining Year Six as I am about to getting to know you all!
I thought that you might like to know a little about me before we meet in September. Well – what sort of a teacher am I? I’d like to consider myself fair when children follow some simple rules. Let’s start with the school values of ‘Honesty, Forgiveness and Respect’; these rules don’t only apply to the children but to all staff too and I will do my best to ensure that you always receive the respect that you deserve, but in return, I always expect honesty. My mom used to say that there is nothing that can’t be forgiven if you own up and accept the consequences.
Right now for the fun stuff! I love a good laugh as it helps the day pass more quickly when we are having fun. That doesn’t mean that every lesson is full of jokes and fun activities as unfortunately there will be some aspects of learning that you will find challenging, plus we all need variety otherwise we don’t appreciate things as much. I love cakes, but if I ate them all the time, I doubt that I’d appreciate them so much! In fact, I love talking about food, travel, nature and my family, but I’ll try not to bore you!
Try not to worry about the organisation of the school day too much as whatever happens in September, we will work through it together and learn along the way.
My homework advice to you this summer is: relax, enjoy your families and friends as much as you can, and arrive at school in September ready to be the best that you can possibly be knowing that the Year Six team will be there every step of the way to help you make your final year at St. Michael’s successful and full of happy memories.
Take care and see you all soon,
