Thursday 21st May

Hi Year 6!

Today we are going to continue to learn about statistics, but moving onto a different topic. For today and tomorrow, you will learn how to calculate the "mean", or "average" of a set of numbers. Here is a video to introduce the main ideas for you:

Now it's time for you to have a go at calculating the mean yourself. You can do the work in your maths book, using this learning objective:

L.O. to calculate the mean average of a set of data

Here are some tables of data for you to use:

Data for mean calculations

Data for mean calculations 1 Question 1
Data for mean calculations 2 Question 2
Data for mean calculations 3 Question 3
Data for mean calculations 4 Question 4
Data for mean calculations 5 Question 5
Data for mean calculations 6 Question 6
Data for mean calculations 7 Question 7
Data for mean calculations 8 Question 8

I will post the answers to the questions as part of tomorrow's lesson.

Good luck, and thanks for doing this lesson.
