Year 2

History curriculum overview for Year 2

1) The children look at the lives of people from the distant past. They learn about the main events of these people’s lives and why they have become such significant people.

2) The children learn about an important event beyond living memory in British history. This allows children to develop their sense of chronology and consider why the event took place; its consequences; and the different ways it is interpreted.

3) The children learn about their own locality by investigating why St. Michael’s School has changed location and how children were taught at St. Michael’s during the Victorian Era.
