Happy New Year
Hi Year 6
Welcome back to a new term and may we start by wishing you and your families a very happy New Year.
This term is where we start our additional Maths and English lessons in preparation for Year 6’s special quiz week (AKA SATS!). Every Monday afternoon, we will have an extra English lesson and on Wednesday, we will have our extra Maths. We will continue to cover all other areas of the curriculum throughout the week.
The first of our other activities to be aware of is the PACT workshop which will be held on Thursday 10th January. More details have been sent out already.
Week commencing the 11th February is our SAT’s practice week but again, you will hear more about that nearer the time.
We have a lot of hard work ahead of us but we know you will rise to the challenge and make good progress.
Mrs Beddard (Team Leader and Class teacher 6B),
Mr Martin (Assistant Head and Class Teacher 6M),
Mrs McDermott (Higher Level Teaching Assistant for all Y6 and Teacher for 6M)
Mr Martin-Summers (Teaching Assistant for Y6)
A few reminders to help make the remainder of the year more successful:
PE Kit - Indoor and outdoor kit must be in school every Monday and go home every Friday to be washed. (Don't forget your spare socks)
Water bottles must be transparent and in school daily.
Please have the correct change to pay for your toast and bagels.
English and maths homework will be given on a Friday and must be handed in the following Tuesday/Wednesday. Spellings will be given on a Wednesday and must be handed in the following Monday. Occasionally this may change but we will make sure that you record this in your link books.
We ask that parents check and sign the home/school link books weekly as we will inform you of assessments results and any other important information regularly. Please do ask any member of the team if you have any concerns or queries and we will be happy to help.
P.S. Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games, and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites!
