About the Governing Body

Our School Governing Body

 

The Governing body is a voluntary body of people who are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. Together with the Head Teacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, the Governors set the school’s aims and policies.

 

The Structure of the Governing Body:

The constitution of the governing body states it shall consist of:

  • 2 co-opted governors
  • 1 local authority governor
  • 1 Headteacher
  • 1 Foundation governor
  • 1 Ex Oficio governor
  • 1 Staff governor
  • 4 Parent governors
  • 2 Associate Members 

 

All meetings are held termly as a full governing body with no sub-committee elected.

 

 Key roles of Governors:

  • To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and aim.

  • To ensure accountability for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the appraisal of staff.

  • To oversee the financial management of the school and ensure value for money.

  • To ensure the Christian values are present in all aspects of school life.

  • To support and challenge and undertake the role of ‘critical friend’.
