Foundation Stage
Here at St. Michael's C of E Primary School, we take pride in our Early Years Provision. Starting school can be a daunting experience for children as well as parents, so our experienced staff ensure the process is a positive and happy one. This is the first stage of your child's learning journey.
Our provision in Nursery and Reception is defined by the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). This sets out the seven areas of learning, the expectations for what children should be able to do by the end of their Reception Year, clarifying the progress with assessment against Early Learning Goals (ELG's).
Our EYFS curriculum is designed to encourage independent, inquisitive and happy learners within the family ethos of our school. Our ultimate aim is, to build strong foundations for their future. We promote the celebration of difference in our board curriculum and always strive to promote a love for learning right from the very start.
