Year 6

Welcome back Year 6

Hi All,

Welcome back to a new term and may we start by wishing you and your families a very happy New Year.

This term is where we start our additional Maths and English lessons in preparation for Year 6’s special quiz week (AKA SATS!) but more about that later.  We have a lot of hard work ahead of us but we know you will rise to the challenge and make good progress.

The Curriculum Overview is available to read to inform you of our learning for the next term.  If you have any additional information or resources to share with us linked to any other subjects we will be learning about, please bring them into school.

As a quick reminder, you need to bring your P.E. kit into school every Monday ready for the week ahead and ensure that you always have your water bottle in school. It is important that you read regularly and ask your parents to sign your link book every week.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to any of us.

Mrs Beddard, Mr Martin, Mrs McDermott, Mr Martin-Summers, Mrs Cattermole and  Mrs Clarke.

A few reminders to help make the remainder of the year more successful:

  • PE Kit - Indoor and outdoor kit must be in school every Monday and go home every Friday to be washed. (Don't forget your spare socks)

  • Water bottles must be transparent and in school daily.

  • Please have the correct change to pay for your toast and bagels.

  • English and maths homework will be given on a Friday and must be handed in the following Tuesday/Wednesday. Spellings will be given on a Wednesday and must be handed in the following Monday. Occasionally this may change but we will make sure that you record this in your link books.

We ask that parents check and sign the home/school link books weekly as we will inform you of assessments results and any other important information regularly. Please do ask any member of the team if you have any concerns or queries and we will be happy to help.

Here is the power point for the poetry competition. Have fun and be creative!
