Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Hi All,

Welcome to your first term in Year 6.  What a strange end to year 5 you had and we all hope and pray that this year will become more ‘normal’ as the time goes on.

This year is going to be an important and exciting time for you with lots of decisions to make.  To help with some of those decisions, please take a look at the secondary school website link below for admission details including any potential open evenings and entrance exams.  It may be worth taking a look at the individual secondary school websites for further information.

We know that many of you have worked very hard at home although we are aware that there is still a lot to do.  To explain what we will be covering over this first half term, a copy of the curriculum overview is attached.  The main thing this year is to make the most of it by working hard and enjoying yourselves.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to any of us.

Mrs Beddard, Mr Martin, Mrs McDermott, Mr Martin-Summers and

Mrs Abley

A few reminders to help make the remainder of the year more successful:

  • PE Kit - Indoor and outdoor kit must be in school every Monday and go home every Friday to be washed. (Don't forget your spare socks)

  • Water bottles must be transparent and in school daily.

  • Please have the correct change to pay for your toast and bagels.

  • English and maths homework will be given on a Friday and must be handed in the following Tuesday/Wednesday. Spellings will be given on a Wednesday and must be handed in the following Monday. Occasionally this may change but we will make sure that you record this in your link books.

We ask that parents check and sign the home/school link books weekly as we will inform you of assessments results and any other important information regularly. Please do ask any member of the team if you have any concerns or queries and we will be happy to help.

Here is the power point for the poetry competition. Have fun and be creative!
