Ofsted inspection December 2022

Our last Ofsted inspection was a short ungraded inspection in December 2022. You can read the report at the bottom of the page. The two issues that we needed to improve upon have been addressed.

We were asked to ensure all children were reading a phonics book matched to the sounds that they know. Since then, we have purchased 1,900 new Book Bag Books which match exactly with our Read Write Inc. phonics scheme. Staff know exactly where children's phonics knowledge is because of formal half termly checks and informal daily checks in lessons so that children have a phonics reading book that is just right for them.

We were asked to ensure our subject leaders know how well their subject is being taught and how well pupils are achieving in every subject. Since our inspection, we track every child's progress in each subject on a termly basis. Our subject leaders have a programme to ensure that over an academic year, they check on their subjects in different ways. This includes, visiting lessons, talking to pupils, looking at pupils books, analysing our tracker and speaking with adults in school. When they find things which need improving, they share this in INSET meetings and support other teachers so that pupils in the classroom get the very best quality teaching and learning.
